Domestic Induction Heating System With Standard Primary Inductor for Reduced-Size and High Distance Cookware

In this article, a hybrid wireless power transfer system, which combines induction heating (IH) and inductive functionalities, is proposed to improve the performance of domestic IH application with small loads weakly coupled distant inductors. Considering basic single-inductor application, system adds secondary inductor series compensation capacitor directly attached ferromagnetic cookware. The extended distance can be used implement glassless concept, where ceramic glass typical cooktops substituted by kitchen surface itself. design coil carried out means combination finite-element electrical simulations. A process, including housing resonant capacitors selection winding number turns cabling, presented. As result, prototype implemented tested under working conditions up 1500 W at several distances. Experimental results validate modeling simulation. Moreover, thermal confirm feasibility proposal adopted strategies for housing.
